The Boathouse at Hendry's Beach sits on the beach, and outdoor dining includes magnificent views of the ocean. This hotspot serves a lovely brunch, and in the evenings, the menu features upscale, locally-caught seafood.
 
For those evenings that require something extra, Lure Fish House is a great choice with its locally-sourced seafood and amazing wine selection. The best selection of groceries and gourmet food can be found at Whole Foods.
 

THINGS TO DO

Most of the locals spend their time outdoors. It can be an afternoon bike ride or a stroll through the neighborhood. The La Cumbre Country Club is a popular spot to spend a day or afternoon with access to golf, tennis and swimming.  Horse riding trails and other tennis courts sit within Hope Ranch.
 
The main beach within the area is Hope Ranch Beach. This is a gated, private beach for use by local homeowners. In addition to all the normal beach activities, Hope Ranch Beach has a playground for the little ones and a picnic area, so families can spend the entire day at the beach.

In Hope Ranch, the public schools are served by Hope Elementary School District and the Santa Barbara High School District, and most of the schools rank in the top 20 percent of California schools, including:
